With 8,000 acres of wildlife sanctuaries, nature preserves, parks, and campgrounds, Caroline County offers miles of hiking trails, hunting, and even hang gliding. There are 100 acres of freshwater lakes, eight public boat ramps, a well-maintained county marina, and miles and miles of rivers and creeks for water and nature enthusiasts to enjoy.

You will be enchanted by the country’s charm and natural tranquility. Maritime centers and wildlife preserves can be found along scenic trails. Boat rentals, launches, cabins, canoeing, and fishing are available at Martinak State Park in Denton. Caroline County’s Museum of Rural Life depicts rural life in the past. A 400-acre native garden and preserve, Adkins Arboretum has woodland paths and plant sales.

Linchester Mill, once the nation’s oldest-running business, sold grain to George Washington’s army during the Revolutionary War. Caroline has two championship golf courses.
