Hampden

Rowhouses and townhouses characterize the Hampden neighborhood of North Baltimore. A skate park and many green spaces make this an ideal place to live, work, and play. On 36th Street, known as “The Avenue,” annual events include Hon Fest (think Hairspray the musical) and the Mayor’s Christmas Parade. Every year, 34th Street hosts the Miracle on 34th Street celebration. The neighbors on this block go all out with their holiday decorations, which thousands enjoy! The food and coffee scene here is popular with residents. Artifact Coffee, The Bluebird, and The Food Market are favorites. Additionally, there are over 15 barbershops and salons! In addition to these local businesses, Johns Hopkins University is the area’s largest employer. Remington and Charles Village are nearby neighborhoods.
